Ballad Health’s Norris elected board member of Virginia Early Childhood Foundation

Todd Norris

Ballad Health executive Todd Norris has been elected to serve on the board of the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation (VECF), a statewide public-private entity that supports early childhood development and school readiness for the Commonwealth’s youngest children.

Norris, senior vice president of community health and system advancement for Ballad Health, was among two new members the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation Board of Directors elected during the organization’s fall board meeting on Sept. 18.

“I am extremely honored to be selected to serve on the board of such a distinguished and valuable organization,” said Norris.

“I look forward to collaborating with the talented leaders, from both the private and public sectors, that make up VECF, as we work to improve access and enhance the quality of early childhood development and education for children throughout Virginia.”

Norris helps lead Ballad Health’s transformation to become a community health improvement organization, focused on reducing disease through prevention and disease management. His work includes providing resources to one of the nation’s largest Accountable Care Organizations, consisting of more than 250 members that serve 21 counties across two states.

The area Norris leads also includes the Ballad Health Foundation, the philanthropic and grant funding arm of Ballad Health charged with advancing the health system’s mission of building a legacy of superior care.

Previously, Norris served as the senior vice president of system advancement for Wellmont Health System. In that role, he was responsible for marketing, communications and philanthropy for the health system.

“We welcome Todd to our talented team of statewide business and community leaders, all of whom are deeply committed to ensuring a strong start for every child in the Commonwealth,” said Ned Massee, president of Croatan Advisors and board chair of the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation.

“His many years of experience in the healthcare sector will provide unique insights to our work as we strive to shape and inform a vision for early childhood development and school readiness in Virginia.”
