Ballad Health Foundation is partnering with local optometrists and opticians to provide free vision care – which includes glasses – to qualifying community members. Anyone interested in participating in the program has until October 10 to pick up an application at Laughlin Memorial Hospital’s main lobby or the Greene County Health Department.
All applications need to be turned in on October 11 at Laughlin’s main lobby between 8-11 a.m.
Eye exams and glasses are free for those who qualify. Priority for vision care will be given to individuals who have not had an eye exam or received glasses within the last five or more years. The next priority group will be within a four-year range, and then, three years, until all available appointments are filled.
To apply, individuals must bring their application, along with the following documents on October 11:
The vision clinic is made possible by the Blanche W. Grady Community Service Award, a fund within the Ballad Health Foundation, and supported by the Scott M. Niswonger family. The program is in partnership with local optometrists and opticians, the Greene County Health Department, Remote Area Medical, and a host of community volunteers.
