Highlands Sports Medicine treats two main types of sports or recreation-related injuries:

  • Acute injuries: A sudden injury that requires immediate attention like bone fractures or dislocations and muscle strains or sprains. This can include any traumatic injury from a sport or activity, such as knee dislocation treatment, a pulled hamstring muscle or a hip injury from running.
  • Chronic: Injuries like runner’s knee or tennis elbow that stem from consistent over-exertion, improper technique, or bad stretching habits. We offer a variety of treatments and therapies for these conditions, including golf elbow treatment, runner's knee therapy, tennis elbow therapies and ankle tendonitis treatment.

Non-surgical orthopedic services

We provide care for a wide range of sports or recreation-related services and treatments, including:

  • Non-operative orthopedic care, including hands-on physical therapy and treatment for various orthopedic conditions, such as runner’s knee, tendonitis, tennis elbow, weight-lifting elbow pain and leg or foot pain
  • Full treatment for any sports-related injury, whether that’s a sprained ankle, strain, sports hernia, dislocated shoulder, ACL injury or rotator cuff tear
  • Therapy and treatment for back issues for patients who are of college-age or younger
  • Joint injections under fluoroscopy or ultrasound, including knee injections
